Named after a mountain in the Alps, Grand Rubren craft distillery was founded in the early 1950s. Grand Rubren products are crafted and produced in Barcelonnette, which is nestled at the heart of the Ubaye Valley, in the region of Alpes de Haute-Provence.

There was too much temptation to associate the Mountains and Alps with Provence. This led to the creation of a colourful and flavourful range.

The craft distillery’s reputation revolves around a top-quality “génépi liqueur”, carrying on the traditional recipe of this mountain after-dinner drink.

Completely natural, with no flavourings or colours, this liqueur is the foundation of the entire product range offered by Grand Rubren. Mountains, always Mountains... Grand Rubren’s identity rests on three pillars: Mountains, Natural Products and Provence.

We sought to infuse all our products with the spirit of Alpes de Haute Provence. We use high-calibre ingredients and traditional production techniques which respect these ingredients, all at the heart of the Ubaye Valley in Alpes de Haute Provence.

Reflecting our keen focus on natural products, we have chosen to develop a comprehensive range with more than 12 products created using Organic Farming, ranging from aperitifs to after-dinner drinks.

This expertise and production quality have been recognised many times by the professional juries at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. Several of our products have received the Gold Medal: White Génépi, traditional pastis, certified organic limoncello, Wild Thyme liqueur, melon aperitif…
